Hearty Cabbage Noodle Pan – Grandma's classic with a modern twist
When you're hungry and your heart craves something hearty, there's hardly anything better than a good, hearty pan made with simple ingredients. Cabbage Noodle Pan is one such insider tip – a rustic comfort dish that's perfect for the whole family or when you're simply in the mood for some honest, home-cooked food. With just a few ingredients, you can conjure up a true taste experience that tastes like childhood, cooking with grandma, and lots of Maggi.
Ingredients (for approx. 4-6 servings)
-
500g minced meat (beef or mixed)
-
500g pasta (preferably Spiralini)
-
1 small white cabbage
-
1 onion
-
Maggi seasoning (to taste - lots of it!)
-
Optional: Cream cheese spread Preference
Preparation
1. Prepare the cabbage
First, cut the white cabbage into fine strips or thin slices. Sauté it vigorously in a large pan with a little oil until it turns light brown and soft. This gives the dish its typical savory note and ensures roasted aromas that will really infuse later.
2. Add the ground meat & Sauté the onions
While the cabbage is sizzling in the pan, sauté the ground beef and finely chopped onion in a separate pan until crumbly and lightly browned.
3. Cook the pasta
Cook the pasta al dente in salted water. It's okay if it retains some of its bite, as it will cook more later.
4. Combine everything
Now, all the ingredients come together in a large pan or roasting pan: The sautéed cabbage, the ground beef and onion mixture, and the pasta are carefully combined. Now it's time to use the most important seasoning: Maggi. Feel free to be generous if you like. The seasoning adds depth and that unmistakable flavor that many remember from their childhood.
5. Give it time
The secret of the cap noodle stir-fry: time. It's best to let the whole thing sit at room temperature for another 2-3 hours—or reheat it later. Only then do the flavors fully develop, and the stir-fry takes on its typical, robust character.
6. Refine (optional)
Before serving, the dish can be refined with a little cream cheese if desired. Simply fold in and heat again until the cheese is nicely creamy. This gives the pan a delicate, mild flavor—a wonderful contrast to the spiciness of the Maggi.
Conclusion
The Cabbage Noodle Pan isn't a diet dish—but it is real soul food. Simple, honest, and down-to-earth. Perfect for cold days, large gatherings, or when you just want something hearty. Anyone who loves Maggi will adore this pan. And anyone who lets it sit and eats it later will be rewarded: It tastes almost even better reheated.
Tip: Fry it again in the pan the next day – it'll be crispy and delicious!
Enjoy your meal – and don't skimp on the Maggi!
