These juicy meatballs are made with just a few ingredients and are perfect for the whole family. Whether for lunch, at a picnic, or cold on a bread roll - they always taste good. With this recipe, you can easily make these classics yourself.
Ingredients for approx. 12 meatballs
-
1 bread roll from the day before
-
approx. 100ml water, milk, or beef broth (for soaking)
-
1 onion
Advertising -
500g mixed minced meat (beef/pork)
-
1 egg
-
2 tsp mustard
-
1 tsp salt
-
1/2 tsp pepper
-
2 tbsp chopped parsley (fresh or frozen)
-
2 tbsp clarified butter or oil for frying
Preparation
1. Soak the bread roll
Tear the bread roll into small pieces and soak in water, milk, or broth for about 10 minutes. Then squeeze out any excess water.
2. Prepare the onions
Peel and finely dice the onion. If you prefer a milder dish, you can lightly sauté it first.
3. Mix the mixture
Place the minced meat, onions, squeezed bread roll, egg, mustard, salt, pepper, and parsley in a large bowl. Mix everything thoroughly with your hands or a spoon until a smooth mixture forms.
4. Form meatballs
With slightly damp hands, form approximately 12 equally sized meatballs. As a guideline, you can use approximately 60g of meat mixture per meatball.
5. Fry
Heat clarified butter or oil in a large pan. Fry the meatballs over medium heat for approximately 5 minutes on each side. Only turn them when they are nicely browned and have a crust.
