Chicken Strips with Mushrooms and Peas
Tender chicken, creamy sauce, fresh mushrooms, and green peas – this quick chicken strips are ready in just 20 minutes and taste like a classic family dish. It goes particularly well with fluffy rice or fresh baguette.

400g chicken breast fillet

1 onion

250g brown mushrooms

200ml vegetable stock

200g cream (or milk for a lighter version)

200g peas (Frozen, thawed)

Cut the chicken breast into thin strips.

Peel and finely dice the onion.

Clean and slice the mushrooms.
2. Fry the chicken
Heat 1 tablespoon of rapeseed oil in a large pan. Sear the chicken strips over high heat for 2-3 minutes on all sides. Then remove from the pan and season lightly with salt and pepper.
3. Fry the mushrooms and onions
Heat the remaining oil in the pan. Sauté the onions and mushrooms over medium heat until lightly browned. Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and sauté briefly to bind them together.
4. Prepare the sauce
Deglaze with vegetable stock, then stir in the cream. Add the frozen peas and simmer gently over medium heat for 5-10 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
5. Finish the chicken
Return the seared chicken to the pan and heat briefly in the sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and chopped parsley.

Tip:
If you like it spicier, add a little garlic or a squeeze of lemon juice to the sauce while frying. A spoonful of Dijon mustard also adds an extra kick to the dish.
